Diatomite

Celite diatomite

Diatomite is composed almost entirely of silica (silicon dioxide) and is therefor also called diatomaceous earth and kieselguhr. Because it is inert, it does not affect the taste, smell or color of the liquid being filtered. The natural characteristics of diatomite make it a unique filter aid and filler.

Cellulose

Cellulosa fiber

Cellulose fiber is an environmentally friendly material, with natural characteristics, which make it ideally suited to filtration applications and as a filter. Diacel and Technocel are made primarily from beech and birch wood.

Diacel is used as a filter aid, and in combination with diatomite or perlite to reinforce the filter cake. Technocel is used as filler in a broad range of areas. The fiber structure of Technocel reduces shrinkage and cracking in products such as paints.

Harborlite perlite

Harborlite perlite is made from particles of a special type of volcanic sand. A key feature of perlite is its low density. Like diatomite it consists of virtually pure silica. Perlite does not affect the smell, taste or color of other substances. Harborlites pH resistance means it can be used when filtering highly alkaline liquids.

Filter Cartridges

IFAB stocks and markets filter cartridges from leading manufacturers in Europe, USA and Japan. Filter cartridges are available in a great number of designs, with most manufacturers specializing in various ways.

Filter bags

Temperature, type of liquid, flow rate, particle size, chemical compatibility and viscosity are amongst the basic factors which must be taken into account when selecting filter bags. All bags are available in nylon, polypropylene, polyester or viscose. The bags are glazed, to prevent fibermigration from the filter material. The standard ring is steel, but we can also supply polypropylene, polyester or nylon rings.

Flocculates Polymers

Duromax Floc consists of organic polymers of high molecular weight, which are used to improve dewatering, and also facilitate the formation of floccules, which are large and easily separated out. There are three types of polymer: cationic, anionic and non-ionic. Duromax Floc is available in both powdered and liquid forms.

Sil-proof

IFAB BG6

To create and maintain the required clarity of beer upon storage and subsequent cooling, it must be chillproofed- stabilized to prevent chill-haze formation. Sil-Proof BG-6 is an amorphous silica gel

xerogel (dry) designed to selectively adsorb undesirable proteins from beer.

Superabsorbents

High absorbency and pliability are important features in modern diapers. They are achieved by means of a combination of technical expertise, cellulose material, and a few grams of Flosorb superabsorbent. One gram of Flosorb can absorb 50 to 500 grams of liquid.

Water filter

Water filters

Shakesby filters are designed for use in households where the supply of drinking water contains high levels of iron, manganese and hydrogen sulphide. These filters are based on the use of oxygen to separate out iron and manganese. The existing water pressure is used to add the oxygen, in other words, no compressors are needed. We also supply filters for treatment of hard and acidic water supplies.
